In grade 11, i was ahead in my assignments. My art teacher asked me to paint a piller that we have right outside the artroom. It was just painted red and the paint was old and chipped off in a lot of areas. He told me that i could do another to it to show off art! I had to take off all the old paint, primse it and then i started designing and painting it. It was hard because clearly you can see that its a lot taller then me. I also was using house paints for this project so it didnt dry very fast... This project was also right beside on of the most busy hallways in the school.... There would be so many times that we would block it off to try and make sure people wouldnt touch it, but of course high school kids can be stupid at times. People would touch it all the time even though we had signs saying "WET PAINT" and i had people that would lean on it. I spent so much time on this project just fixing and redoing parts that people have messed up. I spent half a school year on this project but it was so worth it. Near the end of the year i was finished in some of my other classes and they let me work on this even more. I finished this about a week before school ended and it was the happiest time in my life. So many people that i didnt even know would come up to me in the school and tell me how amazing and cool it was. Even people from the other high school in our town saw it!

It makes me so happy that i go back to visit my art teacher still and i still see that its there and that people love it. Some of the new students at the high school get so amazed when they find out i did it! And it makes me smile to see my name on this and knowing that my work will forever be part of this amazing high school (which has been around for over 50 years! ) and i just think... wow i wonder how many people art gonna one day see my work!

In my grade 11 year, i got the Most Original Artist Award. I got this award in my first year of this school which was so amazing!! My art teacher one day told me that i should buy tickets to the art show night, i wasnt really sure why he wanted me too, but i did. When i got there it was great and i loved seeing my friends get these great awards. I honestly thought that he just wanted me to come to see what these kinda shows were like.... Then he started talking about a student that came to the school this year, super shy and quite, and had amazing art work and talent, he called for most original artist of the year... Tanisha Coelho! I was SO shocked! My mom just looked at me and we just both couldnt stop smiling, i was so shy and nevourse to walk up there and get the award but im so happy i did. It is one of the greatest things ive ever done in my life.

He said from all my art projects, plus all the work and time i put into the art piller for the school he was amazed with the talent and love i have for art. I smile every time i look at this award in my room!

In the summer after my grade 11 year, I started to really work on more and more art work, but with a full time summer job and a personal life it kind of was hard. My family friend came to my house all excited saying there was an art fair in town. She showed me all these different areas that i could enter art work into. Sadly at the time, i didnt have a lot of art work done, i was so upset, and then she told me about the Abstract area i could enter. I remember that i had a art piece that happened by mistake! I entered it, sadly i couldnt go to the show because i had work but she brought it for me! The next day she came over and handed me a ribbon saying i won second place for my art piece! Like WOW! I was so happy that i won, i won with a piece that was a mistake and happened just for fun!

My ribbon now hangs in my room right next to my Award i got from my school! It is the first ribbon i ever won for anything in my life! I hope to enter my art shows & fairs in the future and hopefully get the chance to add more ribbons to my collection!

Around mid april, close to may 2014, My older cousin tracy and her soon to be husband asked me to do a major project for them, They wanted me to graffiti his Volkswagen R32 for summer car shows! I was honestly so nevouse, like this is a car! and ive never done anything like this, i had no clue what i was going to do, but CHALLANGE ACCEPTED! I went and stayed with my cousin for two weekends and we started, my cousin and i went and bought TONS of sharpies!! It was honestly so fun working on and seeing my cousin and her boyfriend be so amazed and happy about it! It made me feel so great! Even their friends that are also into cars came by to see it! There was fun little parts of this car that just made it awesome! We had "Grumpy Cat" , "Pedo Bear" , "Herbert from family guy" & the hood that said "Keep Calm it Peels Off, with the crown" In the end it ended up FANTASTIC & hundreds of people loved in the car shows they went too! I started finding so many pictures of the car over instagram! One of the best art projects ive worked on! ( you can check out all the pictures from this project on this website,- go under painting and there will be a page just for this project!)

At the end of the summer of 2014, my mom came to me asking for me to do two children friendly art peices for her work. She told me that they art peices would be put up for bidding and the money would be sent to a family in need! Of course i wanted to do it! It took a while to think of ideas of what i could do.. then OF COURSE! what was the biggest thing going around right now? DISNEY'S FROZEN!! I got on working on the paintings right away! Olaf was fun and simple and ended up so cute! I was happy with him! The second painting with all the main characters as a differnt style of cartoon, that was a bit more hard. i just wanted to make them so perfect and cute.... I worked on it for hours and hours everyday, and for a while it just wasnt working out the way i wanted, i was so upset. But my boyfriend and mom kept telling me that it was great. I kept thinking as long as other like it that what matters, In october 2014, It was the day of the charitiy BBQ at the hotel my mom works at. As soon as i brought them in, EVERYONE loved them, they loved the little characters, Seeing everyone love it so much made me feel so much better!

I helped with setting up the BBQ area, The food and i helped collect the money for the charitiy. Both my paintings sold for great amounts & the paintings went to amazing people! All my mom's co-workers loved my work and kept telling me how great my art was, it just made me so happy knowing i could help make money for a family in need, and just the smile my mom had from how i helped was all worth it! I would do charitiy events like this agian in a heart beat !!
